Service Opportunities with the Public Law Center

Orange County JRCLS attorneys work with the Public Law Center of Orange County to supply volunteers for their pro bono legal work.  Visit their attorney volunteer page to see a current list of requests for legal assistance, obtain training, or sign up as a mentor for less experienced attorneys.

Professor Ronald D. Rotunda of the Chapman University Fowler School of Law passed away unexpectedly from pneumonia on March 14, 2018. A prolific author and speaker, Professor Rotunda was a scholar in the fields of constitutional law and professional responsibility. There will be a funeral mass for Professor Rotunda at St. Norbert Catholic Church at 300 East Taft Avenue, Orange, CA, 92865, on Monday, March 26, 2018 at 10 a.m. The Fowler School of Law will also hold a memorial service to celebrate Professor Rotunda’s life, and information will be posted once details have been confirmed. James Wilson Fellowship

Hadley Arkes, David Forte, Justin Dyer, Gunnar Gundersen, and other scholars will offer a weeklong course on Natural Law and its bearing on our law in Washington, D.C.  The Institute will make a place for up to 15 fellows who are law students, clerks, or lawyers only a few years out of law school. Each fellow will receive a $1,000 stipend and funds partially to defray travel expenses.  A complete application package is due April 13, 2018.  More information is available at the link below.
