Luncheon - The Honorable Cormac J. Carney - Civility Counts

On January 19, 2017, the Honorable Cormac J. Carney, U.S. District Judge of the Central District of California spoke to the Society. His remarks were titled “Civility Counts.”

 Judge Cormac J. Carney received his commission to the United States District Court for the Central District of California on April 9, 2003. Prior to his appointment, he served as a judge on the California Superior Court in Orange County from 2001 to 2003. He was in private practice at Latham & Watkins and O’Melveny & Meyers in Los Angeles for 15 years prior to being appointed to the California Superior Court.

 Prior to embarking on the practice of law, Judge Carney was named to the Academic All-America Team and All-Pac-10 Conference teams in 1981 and 1982 for his accomplishments as a wide receiver for the UCLA Bruins. Judge Carney also played for the Memphis Showboats of the USFL during the 1984 season. He graduated from Harvard Law School in 1987.
